Personal Improvement: Fitness Check-in.

Reemphasizing shoulder work, my camera pack is going to be upwards of 50 pounds at times. They’re blown up here a bit because I just got done torching them. Not that large after they calm down.

Midsection is in process. My love handles are melting away, first time in ages. I named them after my mother and aunt, because they would send me baked goodies all winter. So ‘Helen’ and ‘Lizzie’ are yesterday’s news.

Legs are still just starting. The strength is good, but I’m concerned about stamina. Not quite sure how to trigger them further. May pull out the MTB and crank up some hills. That always spurs quad development.

Suggestions welcome. I have to keep up with 30- and 40-somethings. I plan to bury them.

Later: Overthinking slap. Y’know, I have a couple of older packs sitting around. Every camera bag I buy has terrible shoulder straps. Narrow, painful … like having barbed wire around your shoulders after about an hour. I’m just going to chuck weight into one of my smaller bags and go hiking around - their shoulder straps are not much better. Nothing like a dose of reality to gird you for the bigger effort. Maybe I can reverse-engineer some shoulder pads while I’m at it.
